Hey ray, yeah the Wivenhoe catfish are massive:) We have pulled a few over 3kg from there:silly:

Brian, good work on winning the catfish comp. Last weekend seemed to be the only time ever that I have struggled to catch a catfish:silly:

No contest as I was using a game rod and reel with 50lb braid and 80lb wire trace & 12/0 heavy long shank hook with a 120lb wire stinger & 7/0 hook.:woohoo:

They gave a little fight but I allways had em covered:laugh:

Proberbly should not count cause I was wired for sharks but I'll take the win, after all everyone likes to feel like a winner.

Hey Jimmy yeah they got one at the weigh in.

Yeap wolfie I did exactly that - but double - I got a double hook up with 2 catties of about 750gms - 1kg and at the same time the other rod went off so I sent the double back and left it for about 20mins but nessie didn't come.

I think the catties dug into the bottom and sat still. I kept lifting them off the bottom but they kept going back. Maybe it had something to do with the 16oz snapper brick I had on the line.:pinch:

Before you put the cat head on it, what kind of shark was it Red. Tiger? Mako?
