conspiracy theory..... or not?

Recommended Posts

about those 32 containers that were lost at sea near moreton which were ment to be full of somthing nitrate used to make bombs so first reports said.It seems to be of second interest to the media. Now all attention is on the 5000 litres of fuel or oil that was lost and is now chocking up our water. sad to say it but it is good to have 32 new structures to fish off the coast with all these new green zones. I heard on the radio that the stuff in the containers will eventually solidify and thats why its not a threat. so it will go hard like a rock right like an artificial bombie once the container rust away right. Could this be a very expensive plan by a masteer mind to create an artificial reef and something just went wrong? what do you reckon?

It was Ammonium Nitrate. It is used to make bombs, but to make a bomb out of it, you need heaps of diesel. Hence, there is no bomb threat from the cargo in the water

Dunno about the conspiracy theory though. The oil spill is a much worse threat. Affects a wide range of animals and doesn't go away easily (doesn't disentegrate, and it sits on the surface of the water). Ammonium nitrate on the other hand is a fertiliser, so it would create an algae bloom (eutrophication) if it were released in an enclosed area such as a lake or pond or similar. Off point lookout (where they were supposedly dropped) there is a fair bit of current, so the ammonium nitrate will disperse if it gets out of the containers. So it isn't too much of a threat.

Check out the pics of Moreton Ilsand beaches. Black from 1 end to the other. Gonna take ages to clean. Alot of birds and sea life have been hit by it, with crews already been cleaning just hatched turtles etc. Its apparewntly all over the rocks in the north end, hate to think how many sea creatures are gonna be effected by this

Not looking like those green zones are doing to much for the environment does it?

My conspiracy theory is that NOT ALL of the containers fell overboard... and some of the 32 containers have been transferred to other vessels either close to Australia or somewhere during the trip of the cargo.

This freely acquired ammonium nitrate will then be used for terrorist attacks on Australian soil.

RUN FOR THE HILLS!
