Ya'll got Gulp?

Do ya'll have Berkley Gulp in Australia? It is pretty big in Texas, or it has been. It puts off a scent to attract the fish.

Sure do. I got a couple of packs, and when the tails get bitten off, I use them as bait on a different rod:cheer:

We sure do have them. They are probaly the most common lure for the bream tournament circle over here. I don't really like them much coz I can't get that smell off my hands for ages! We have pogys, earthworms, sand worms, fry, shrimp, peeler crab, swimming mullet, grub, corn, minnows, turtlebacks, squid, jerk shad. I probaly forgot one or two but you get the gist

I am cursed with the gulps though.

I love Berkley plastics, but i always have much better luck with the unscented one. Dont know why!!!

All Berkley Plastics are scented 'Gus, even the Powerbaits.

In my oppinion Gulp! plastics (Even though they arn't plastic) are cheap. Makes it all too easy. I prefer Hardbodies over any Plastic. I used to prefer Plastics though I have found if you work Hardbodies the right way at the right time they are just as good, if not better then Plastics.

But yeah the normal power baits as opposed to gulps is what i prefer.

But like you Troy, in fact before you I have found Hardbodies a lot more enjoyable.

Gee Troy I'd hate to see what you thought was an expensive plastic! They are the dearest plastic I have ever seen.

I don't think he means the price, I think that he means they because they arn't made out of plastic (their made out of bait), they are too easy to catch a fish on, so it takes away the fun of lure fishing.

Yeah, they work pretty good here in Texas. U usually catch alot of the trash fish or the small ones. Thats cool that ya'll have it down there.

Just coz we're down in the southern hemisphere, away from Europe and USA and stuff, doesn't mean that we don't have good fishing gear. We're not that far behind you guys.

yep thats the ones mine are abit smaller 3 inch and the packaging different I hear they are quite rank smelling Ive never used them before.

Yep they stink, ya cant get the smell off your fingers either. I reckon main constituent is chook gut!

well i've finally succomed to advertising and bought some of these things . gonhna try them in the morning at kooka park.

ive tasted them before:sick: ...they dont actually taste as bad as they smell...but still dont recomened chewing on them like i did.

They are like mullet gut and chook gut .Ya dont pick ya nose or eat sangas when you are using them.

Talking of SP has anyone down here tried the GULP crab range of baits. Tried them in NZ caught snaps and carrotts on them, Up north arround the isles caught cod and reefies .Got a couple packets left will give em a go and see what happens .

With the crab range do yuo fish them like bait?

Or move the around.

I have seen them but have not been sure on the technoque required.

I used them as bait on the drift ,also as a jig.got good results either way .

it doesnt,not even the skanky old bait my mate john was using, he gaught three catfish, i caught a rockbar a log

had three bumps from fish, no takes
