Home again. A great days fishing on Tuesday. Got onto a goodly sized patch of Kingies. Got one just shy of the 20kg. Photos attached. :woohoo:

Very nice kingie. It looks bigger than 20kg to me but could just be the photo relative to your height.

Were you jigging or fishing livies?

The sea looks pretty damn windy and lumpy in the background too.

Well done fFisher, you must have used a pretty sizable winch to get that one in. Was this a charter you were on? Tell us more.

I am a go hard or go home kind of girl.

The wind was 15-20 from the north and current from the south about 9kts so it stood up a little. We had them on some nice size slimies but got a couple of smaller ones on 400g knife jigs. My blue ocea rose stood up well and the stella 10 has never let me down. We were on a sole charter with JACK SCHICK @ http://www.lordhoweislandtours.net/fishing-on-noctiluca. Been out with Jack over a dozen times and great fish everytime.

My arms were fine( I maintain an ok set of jigging guns)but the knees were a bit bruised from the amount of time spent bashing against the gunnel bringing in fish but worth every bit of it and more. Lord Howe is a fantastic place if you are salty in a variety of ways great wind and kite surfing when the wind gets up too.

I'm very much looking forward to getting out some time soon. Mookystiks has kindly offered to get me out soon so we can see if I can handle the heat. Any other deckie offers would be greatly appreciated. So much to learn yet. :blush:

That is a very nice kingy welldone.I know people that have fished lord howe and still talk about the fishing it sounds mad congrates

I would have called it for over 20kg as well, it is a nice solid specimen. Amazing place that, loved the Friday night fish fries but still can't get kingies that taste that good here. Been too long, "a dozen times" I'm jealous.
