tailor sp's

Ive been trying all different sorts of sp's and hardbodies but havnt had any sucess for tailor. do u guys recommend any types of sp's or lazrs for tailor fishing in the bay. cheers

The problem with Tailor and plastics is they bite them in half!

I have always used ones that look like boat fish, with a small ammount of success (have not tried it often).

4\" Berkley Gulps in mullet pattern were my choice.

Someone on here was telling the other day about a brand that makes much tougher than average plastics, for the life of my i cant think who it was though....

yo rexy!..mate around mud island i have scored loads of talior on squidgy shads in the yellow chicken colour..they love em..have got a few nice size talior off scotts point at redcliffe on them too...but where in the bay are you chasing tailor?

mate i have just started to get them in the brisse river i have been useing 3 inch berkly powerbait in the smelt colour and also my mate stu has got them around st helena on surface lures good luck mate. tight lines.

there is only one lure to use for tailor and thats metal lures, they go crazy and they r cheap. I picked up some from ebay only a few bucks and they work really well

i agree with tim A snapbacks are apparently relly tough.

do u use heavy jig heads and bring em up from the bottom or light jig head and kinda jig them through the mid water.

use lighter jig heads and you can even wind them along the surface they will try and smash them it is a exciting way to catch them

was talkin to a mate today that fishes mud island alot....he reckons the tailor are not there yet...it was this time last year we killed em over there....hope they are just running late:unsure:

hey mate would u know what kinda sp's or lures ur mate uses cause im having trouble getting any. ive caught a few little ones on floating pillies but havnt had any luck with any other sps or lures.

my dad trolls those lures ya find in the cheap bins at amart..producers lures..the long ones with 3 sets of trebles....does alright on them when the tailor are there...as for my mate..brands im not sure..but shallow divers iknow that..il find out for ya thou
