Where is the Wello Point Reef

As I am looking at coming on Sunday to the Cast Net Training Day I want to take the boat out to the reef. Where exactly is it. I don't have a GPS on the tinnie (yet) and would like some directions. What is the fishing like there.

Mate the fish you will catch there are plenty of squire, bream, grassy sweetlip, cod and those sort of bay reefies.

The reef is easy.

Once you launch your boat, simply drive out through the markers, once at the last one turn left or right and your on the reef. It wraps around the point each way.

However if in doubt, there will be plenty of AFO boats there, so just go where the action is

Most boats go left to the red beacon.

You can see them from the point if you look in the general direction of green island.

Pepe... Or you could just follow the proccession of AFO boats out after breakfast!

Its what I am planning on doing as I have never fished there before either.

If fishing before the cast net stuff, then drop Jeff F a note as he is planning to be on the water at 3am.

Getting there that early (3-4am)is too difficult in this cold weather but the 7am is manageable.

I will bring my map and do some scribbles on it for next time.

Follow the markers out from the boat ramp, last markers are on the reef, you can go left or right, seems most go left as stated.

At low tide you can see the reef actually starts at the point, its right up to the concrete wall.
