2013 crate of oranges.AKA State of origon.

it got me thinking about the 2013 crate of oranges comp.

Are there any places that could accommodate us at a reasonable cost where we could fish outside of the square and target trout or cod.

No mountain goat country and 2wd access.

Or maybe just an inland dam in Qld or NSW.

Dont know if there is any interest from both sides if the border seeing that the blues could be demoralized from previous thrashings.

I have also posted on NCF to see if any interest in Mexico.

Ive never fished at the particular spot but there is a caravan park right on the dumaresq river at texas. Plenty of cod in the waterway. Just the first place i thought of.

We would need waters that could accommodate 30 to 40 anglers and reasonable traveling distance from Bne and northern rivers wonder about upper reaches of clarence or richmond.

Nowhere in the same class as Scrote's spot (NCF site), but I've mentioned Glenlyon as a venue before. It ticks a lot of boxes and has running waters as well as the dam itself.

Might be good for this year's State of Origin (possibly early next year)

+1 for Glenlyon. You've got the dam for boats and multiple access points in the Dumaresq and Mole Rivers for kayaks and bank bashers.

Glenlyon does tick all the boxes. Air conditioned cabins,powered or unpowered sites and excellent park owners. ( Brian and Debby Dare.)

Only minuses are no tv reception ( Plus for me)

Only telstra mobile reception.

Regardless of being origin or not (which can be a bit maroon lop sided) I would still stick my hand up for a big AFO run out there regardless. I have wanted to do it for ages and would think doing it over a long weekend with the crew would be awesome.
