I hope that no deals are done with a KAP at all. I'd prefer a new election to this.

If they get their way to help form a minoirty gooberment with whoever, then they want a mandated 10% ethanol in all fuels. So if I understand what they want correctly, this means 10% in all flavours of petrol, 91 - 98. This is bad news for us fishers. Outboards will have the warranty voided by running this fuel in them.

Hopefully I misunderstand the KAPs proposition here...

it`s starting to be the never ending story

Ferny Grove by-election?????

The Electoral Commission Queensland (ECQ) has received advice since the election that PUP candidate Mr Taverner is an undeclared bankrupt and potentially ineligible.

If I lived in that electorate, no matter how I voted on election day, if a party/candidate forced a by-election over this, I would definitely vote for the other, 2nd time around

Will be interesting if they do have a by election. I think there was quite a lot of protest votes in this election. Maybe people woke up on Sunday and went OMG what have I done.

If the pup candidate is ruled out of order it will have to be a bye election unless one of the other candidates wins by a majority of more than the total number of votes obtained by the PUP.

Anyone who just voted 1 on the ballot paper effectively is disenfranchised;and even the fact that the pup was running dead could be said to influence how other people cast their votes so i think that a bye election will be on.

The pup candidate should be held for the cost of a bye election and that really would make him bankrupt.

Cheers

I think the PUP party should pay the costs. The candidate is already broke. It's all very very sad and furstrating. We have to wait another 26 days for a solid result if this goes ahead.

I hate politics, yet I can't stop looking...

ethanol is still up there on their list

They put together a "huge wishlist", with Mr Katter saying there was no clear mandate but that the KAP now had the leverage to push forward a number of projects, including a Galilee Basin rail, ethanol industry, jobs and infrastructure……

Anna Bligh should've paid for her bi-election too and Kevin Rudd, but that's just the cost of our democratic system....as much as it sucks.

Its an easy fix.

No bye elections, just give the seat to whoever got the next highest number of votes in the last election. Bet mid term resignations would become as rare as politicians keeping promises then!
