I like this one. It's my first Mackeral other then some Slimy's I got down South a few years back. Caught landbased at Amity Point with Tim on holidays casting slugs into eddies and current lines. He went 61cm. Tim got one also, pitty his didn't fight .

Same cowfish summer goels = first jack, thready around 1m and a bullie oh and also a decant bream on lure .

Spangled Emps have similar colour under the eye.

But that is 100% a jack. The juveniles have those stripes and browner colour. They get that nice copper or red colour as they mature.

It's either a juvenile jack or some other reefy.

chub, if your unsure what it was as sweetlip have blue marks as well, think about the teeth, the jacks have far bigger ones.

After seeing both pics mine was a Jack :woohoo: My first ever Jack. exactly the same fish but mine was bigger. With the Grassy pics they were a lot lighter than mine. Thanks guys;)

Bigger than most any prawn i have ever seen, probably 15-20 cm long, caught in a landing net off redcliffe jetty, it kept buzzing in and out of our burley trail so i grabbed it to get a picture.

Chubs: That ones of Troy's is a Jack. This is a Grassy Sweetlip. They look similar, but are a bit different.
