Boat Transport - Melbourne to Brissy

Hi all

I was wondering whether anyone had transported a small boat up to Brissy from Melbs, and if so, who did you use?

I have a small zodiac inflatable like a surf rescue boat, that I want to bring up, but I have been getting ridiculous prices - like anywhere from $1000 to $2000!!

I would love to bring it up, but if its going to be that much....

Any suggestions??

Train? Can it be deflated? If so see if you can put it in with a furniture removalist, Or even a Courier could be considered

Thats probably about the going rate. Mate tried to get a small car transported to bathurst last year, quotes were all well over $1000.

Ended up getting onto a truckie who worked for a company sending trucks down empty, cash job $500.

Yeah its not that big, but its on a trailer....

If anyone wants to do it for $500 let me know!!!

Probably talking the obvious here, but you are looking at a car transporter to bring it up loaded on the trailer.

Other thing maybe, depending on the width is to speak with a removalist about backloading it inside a furniture truck. Atleast that way its completely protected and can leave all the crap inside as it wont be blowing out...

Yeah- have tried the usual suspects, but no car transport companies want to help me out - even though it seems like easy cash!

What actual sizes are we talking, or does it have to come up with the trailer? If it can be handled by a couple of people would it sit under a Coach? I know that McCaffertys (check spelling) run 2 coaches a day from Melbourne to Brisbane, and I remember them dropping parcels off along the way, so they may be a way of getting it up. Give them a call, at worst they'll say no.
