Well we have a hull, and enough gear lying around, and a home for it.

We just need to know if there is enough interest out there to make it worth while putting it all together.

The boat will be available to anyone, but is particularly targeted at the young fella's who do a lot of land based fishing around the river, Schulz's etc.

So if you reckon you might like to borrow the boat from time to time, put a reply in here. If there is enough interest I'll sort it all out, and maybe have a M&G teaching day for those unfamiliar with using small boats.

I would certainly be interested in borrowing a boat for any fishing trip.......I am starting to tire of walking and hiking trying to find local hot spots. I mainly target jew, having come from Newcastle, but am struggling trying to find accessible land based spots for them. I have tried several recommended spots with no success so far...

nice offer from feral but i would not be under any illusion your jew fishing will improve with a 8ft tender, i know where the jew hold up and its out off moreton island or on a few of the close wrecks, we do get a few but its not easy.

What we need to know do we need a trailer or will people be able to use a roof rack to transport it.

A trailers a bit of a bitch to store dont u think? And also people will need a tow bar on their car aswell as skills to drive and reverse it.

Hey guys, if its possible I would take it up to baroon some time? I got the roofracks and a tow bar so its doesn't really phase me how it gets from A to B.

Cant see why not Tim, idea is just not to take it somewhere unsuitable for a small boat IE where there is wash from large boats.

i have some large pieces of polystyrene foam i could cut down to fit the tinny for floatation to make it positivly boyant its gathering dust in the back of the rover/storage system:laugh: :laugh:

The prob with a trailer for it will be registration. About $65 per year.

Whose or what name would it be registered in.

Once the details are ironed out

I would be willing to donate the $$$ for the first year rego if a trailer goes ahead.

I suggest - forget the trailer. If you don't have racks or your own trailer, then buy, hire, or borrow a box trailer for the day/s you need it.

This keeps things simple (and saves me a bit of space;) )

Would those inflatable roof racks be strong enough to hold it.

If so im willing to donate some $$$ to help towards a set of those that everyone can borrow instead of the trailer idea.

Angus sells some good roof racks for the Viking kayaks which could be perfect for this. They are Kwikrack Loadmaster roof racks and simply connect through the inside of your car. I use them for my Tempo and they work perfectly.

The inflatables might hold it once on, but I reckon you could do a lot of damage to your roof getting the boat on. Particularly if your not used to loading the boat on to them. I would say if you dont have a solid set of roof racks, borrow or rent a trailer.

also It would probably go alright in a ute, hanging over the tail gate, with an old blanket under it.

Hi, I would enjoy borrowing the boat to take it to places that my boat is not allowed . Transporting it is not a problem. Thanks, can give time or a few towards set up.

I have a set of roof racks that fit in the channel of most cars it was fine on my vp commodore I have no need for them so if you need the racks let me know.

I'll only be over at North Pine Dam, but I dont know what times I have to be there until after the meeting tomorrow night.

If the times overlap, I'll drop it at Kurwongbah on my way through, if not, the boys have some work on up this way, I might be able to throw it in the back of a ute from work later in the week and drop it off at your place. Should be able to get it to you one way or another.

Maybe Ray might toss in a pair of the six volt batteries he is giving away, then anyone wanting too use it would only have to borrow an electric?

As you are no doubt aware you can't use it on NPD.
