when I first looked at that orange I had doubts on that orange.

I just realised it's probably because of how the flash reflected off the blank on the very right hand side, looked very poxy there... Given it will be darker and not have a white line from flash running up it:P I think it should look very good.

It's certainly growing on me.

Really. It's look pretty sick now. You're a lucky man Biggles, I just wish I had more cash so I could get my 08 Twinpower in and make/use my rod sooner:)

Edit: That butt section looks hot mate. I like it:)

ok finished all the binding, just needs epoxying and its all done. its looking great and feels great balances beautifully with the 2000 sol :woohoo: :woohoo: .

the pictures taken at night indoors really dont do it any justice at all ill take some tomorrow outside in good light withought a flash

I got the inverter yesterday for the rod wrapper/dryer so I did all the epoxying on Als rod so its all finished now :woohoo: :woohoo: its lookin great hope he is happy with it

Can I ask what the rough cost to get one made would be? After seeing this, I think my next rod ( not that I have one planned at this stage ) will have to be a sexy hand made one.

Paul there are so many variables when it comes to a custom rod, what guides,blank,butt,etc etc etc. one identical to Terrys around $400

Yes, it is thin. I keep thinking it will break when you look at it. The tip is incredibly thin, but still loads up to have some nice power behind it.

It is amazing how strong they are. My Loomis that Ray had custom made for me was amazing, until I sandwiched it between the boat and a mangrove tree, then happily pulled the boat in until I realised the cracking sound wasn't mangrove branches

I had it repaired, but alas, only good for display purposes these days.

Finally managed to catch up the thread again, Me thinks Terry's rod may actually be as good as mine :woohoo: , argh well must be the quality in the workmanship. Good stuff Lee, you are doing really well at the moment, shall need to re-name you "King Midas".

Nah mate I dont find it necessary on light rods, if using single foot guides on say a 10-17lb tuna stick or heavier I would usually use it.
