A Texan Introduction...

Howdy y'all! (No, in Texas, most of us really don't say \"Howdy\" but I thought it might entertain you guys.) :P

I stumbled upon this site after seeing some of the awesome shark pictures you guys post here. We come across some big ones in Texas but very few come close to the ones you guys have swimming around down under.

I'm a kayak fisherman from Houston, TX and a member over on www.CoastalKayakAngler.com. If you guys ever have any questions regarding yak fishing, rigging, or anything of that nature, feel free to stop by and check us out.

I look forward to looking at some of the reports and pictures you guys have posted. Some of the species you guys catch I've never seen before. I put up a post in the international reports forum with some pictures of fish I've caught over here on the Gulf Coast. Enjoy:

Merry Christmas everybody! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

We have our fair share of sharks right off the beach as well but it's rare that we get anything over 10'. Lots of guys catch them out of the kayaks too.

Here are a few pics. The guy on the left in the pic below is T.J. Pilgrim aka \"Jolly Roger\". He's a local kayak and shark fishing expert. All these pics belong to him:

Lots of Jacks and Reds in the surf too:

And here's a video T.J. shot off the beach at High Island, which is just east of Galveston Island.
