large SPs

anyone out there ever use any of the realy large SPs i just bought a half of a dozen different shapes and colours in six inch to try out deep jigging on the reefs and throwing at deep structure for jew caught jew on HBs aqnd feather jigs before but i've yet to try these things the types i got look alot like herring,whitingand mullet cant wait to try them around some well lit pylons on a big tide

I've used 4 and 5 inch plastics for Flathead and that's about it, haven't gone any larger. 30cm Flatties have no trouble eating a 5 inch lure either! .

Yep used big 6\" ones at Callide Dam last November on Barra, hooked a bigun, 2 or 3 jumps, then he wrapped me around some structure and broke it off. Got another hit at Awoonga a day later that chewed up the SP pretty badly, but missed the hook! Still got it in the shed somewhere.

Hi Jeff, Used them jiggin in about 20mts the ones I used looked liked a squid with a wieghted head , catches cod & lipper ok

just booked on a charter with the work fishing club (the kador crawchies) for the 4th of march i reckon i'll take them out and see if i can find a kingy or sambo with them

if ya after sambo's and kingies try a white coloured 5 to 6 inch worm.I have never use one's that big but saw it on a fishing DVD and they were catchin fish one after another.....

I used 4\" trying for trevally, no trevally but got bitten off twice by smallish mackeral. I can't bring myself to use anything bigger, any thing that will take a 5\" plastic won't want to be caught on 4lb!

I sometimes use 6\" and 9\" worms and eels plastics. Silver and Brown, Black and Gold. Spent $30 and haven't caught a thing on the bloody stupid things. I jigged all over Awoonga and Morton till I got sore.

I also use 6\" Shads and tail swim baits but not my favourite thing to use.

You would also probably just cast the plastic clean off!
