throwing as casting

I have been thinking just now that if you dont have a yak or a boat to deploy your baits for bullies would throwing or pegging your bait work provided it is not too large. cause i would think it puts your bait under less pressure then casting. its just not as cool i guess

When I was young and silly we used to use a house brick and launch it like a discuss thrower (except swirling above one's head to keep the line clear)

a drop the bail arm

remember to keep sufficient force on the spool/drag to prevent birds nests!

Depending on the size of your baits, how far you want them out and the type of water you're fishing in, why don't you just get a small inflatable boat? They cost about $20-40

Also, depending on the location, have you considered floating baits out?

All of you don't laugh - if you are up river and need to cast to the middle - use you're beach rod - searious.

When I was a hippy living north I would cast a dead fish on my 13' beach rod as far as I wanted.
