For Sale: Hobie Mirage Sport 2007 - Used

post-953-144598640573_thumb.jpg

(see below for whats included in the sale price)

This kayak is powered by the Hobie Mirage Drive.

The drive is a twist lock system and the rudder is a “twist and stowâ€.

It comes with:

• Genuine Hobie Mirage Seat,

• Two piece Hobie Paddle

• Hobie Inflatable wheeled cart.

• Hobie Round Tackle box (to suit the 8†twist and seal hatch)

• Eagle 128 Cuda sounder and 12v battery. The sounder has been installed via the drink holder.

• It also comes fitted with 2 x flush mounts that suit Scotty rod holders (rod holders not included)

This Hobie and all accessories are in good working conditions. It has all the scratches and scrapes you would expect on a used kayak, but nothing other than superficial damage is evident.

I have had it since Aug 2009. The original owner bought it from Mal at Sunstate Hobie.

It has been a great fishing yak for me and is equally at home in either skinny water chasing bass and yellas, or flatties and bream in the salt.

I’ve never taken mine offshore, but there are plenty of Sport owners that do.

Here are the specs from the Hobie website

• Length: 2.92 m (9' 7")

• Weight: 21.77 kg (48 lb)

• Width: 0.75 m (29.5")

• Capacity: 102 kg

• MirageDrive Weight: 3.27 kg (7.2 lb)

Weighing in at less than 22kg, it is easily loaded by one person.

The Sport is a very stable kayak, great fun for yakkers of all ages.

The only reason I’m selling is because I am now too heavy for it (the Sport is rated to a max. capacity of 102kg including gear)

It is located at Boondall (North Brisbane).

If you can’t pick up, then for a small fee (to cover costs) I may be able to deliver it to you (SEQ only).

Cost of a brand new Hobie Sport is approx $2200, not including the sounder or the cart (another $300.00 approx value), so total replacement value is approx $2500.00!

I’m offering this first to AFO and KFDU members at just …. $1450.00 o.n.o.

Inspection is welcome; please contact me via PM if you are interested.

thanks

Rod

Yeh Ryan, it was great when I was 80kg, now post knee recon I am 95kg... a bit too close to max rating by the time you add the fishing gear etc. :(

I bought myself a Hobie Revolution on the weekend :)

Phew I almost thought we'd lost you. Good to hear about the Revo... Cedric II?

I hope Cedric goes to a good home it has serious fishing karma.

I'm sure its got some left ;) You'll have to drag it offshore with us next time.

Bout time Rocket came out to play with the big boys anyway

you do know Al used up all giddeup's mojo and it was a forced sale because of it

Giddeup has a very special coat of polish, its like ........ NEW MOJO :woohoo:

Pft.

There is only one 'Mojo'. It comes in safety orange, and not some rubbishy "giddeup" style blue. ;)

Will definitely have to see you out there Rod. I'll drag you out if need be. Let us know when you're good to go! Launch is fairly easy mate, I'll make sure you're looked after ;)

Hobie Sport is a nice kayak, can handle some offshore work too, as Schultzy and his son would attest to I'm sure.
