me and my friend are going to north pine from 2 or 2:30 till round 5 probly do we have an ok chance of catchin our first bass?

Yeah you stand a good chance. It is running hot and cold of late, reports saying usually heaps or none!

go the slugs mate and you should have a good chance of getting at lest one find deep water big long casts and you will be fine good luck mate

unfortunately we didnt catch anything

but we pulled 11 dead tillies out of water and one 50cm fork bass!!! 54cm full length

but hopefully when we go back to get our redclaw pots theres some in there if the pots still there

I got 5 bass this afternoon - all around the 40cm range. Seemed pretty lively there today...i probably should have got more.

I was there on wed arvo and caught 4, but all bar 1 were rats.

I am going again tomorrow morning as I prefer my bassin in the am.

Stu, Dino, it was around from Forgan Cove. The long walk down past the powerlines where Stu & Plasticman got all those good bass. There was a Father & Son team there too, who were to surprised to see that someone else had bothered to walk that far, too. I was just using the Gold G-Vibe, and for the first time caught a bass on a soft plastic. I think Atomic was the brand.

Sweet wondering how it was going over there have not been that way for a bit keep going to mcgavins I will have to try there again soon,have you tried baby bass slider grub it worked well for us there.

Was around at McGavins view for a couple of hours this motning. Not a touch, but almost cried, there was this big mother Toga working just off the point, coming right out of the water hitting bait fish, all I has was slugs and deep divers, not a single surface lure!

Threw them at him anyway, not interested.

That's unfortunate, Feral. I'd love to catch a Saratoga, but I've only ever seen the one there, and don't any surface lures. Suppose I should go get a couple just in case...

I caught some nice bass at Forgans last Sunday on Spros, all mid 40 fish.

Was wondering what sort of slugs you use, retrieve speed, depth etc

Used slugs around the 30gram mark, 18gram G Vibes, 1/2 oz spinner baits, the bigger Cobra's (Tassie devil clones), a big prawnstar lure.

seems that spot at mcgavins is finsished, it was really good for about a month but then just died, the fish finally wisend up! theres been so much pressure at the dam over the past few months that I'm thinking that the guys that will get rewarded will be the guys that walk the fartherest. Any one else got any ideas where they'll be?

i did the big walk to norms point (unofficial title) threw every thing in the tackle box at them not a sniff. dug out my left over prawns from yesterday , 3 catties in an hour or so and a mystery fish it hit hard fought hard ,it shredded me near the edge a swoosh of the tail and the dark shape was gone had a look at other opts around the western side of the dam theres a gate for the boat club but it was locked
