whilst each of the series has been alive ( ie: 1-0, 1-1 ) Qld has not lost a ‘Cauldron’ game since 2005. in that time NSW have won the first game of a series once,in 2008

Hopefully Mal doesnt get in too much trouble for going behind the bar last night at the "Dunda".

Im a blue but getting in trouble for something as petty as that is silly. My biggest question is why were they at the worst bar in Bris :P:lol:

hiding away from seductive temptresses, lest the fingers of doom cast their evil spell on a Qlder

3 more sleeps (not counting Nana & Poppie naps) till Game 2 at Suncorp Stadium, here are a couple of interesting stats about SOO Game 2`s at ‘The Cauldron’ when the Blues have been 1-0 up in a series:

NSW teams have taken a 1-0 lead into‘The Cauldron’7 times since State of Origin became a three-game series in 1982, but only once have they returned south as a series winner, so (obviously)on the other 6 occassions they`ve left with a tied 1-1 series scoreline. :)

ïŠ

It `s been 8 years since NSW have won a State of Origin series :woohoo: (just in case anyone has forgotten) , it has been 13 years since a NSW team have come to ‘The Cauldron’ 1- 0 up and won Game 2 and won the series. :( (2000)

The last time a NSW side came to ‘The Cauldron’ 1- 0 up in a series was in 2008,and they lost that Game 2,30–0. :woohoo: ïŠ

An interesting fact: while Qld are going for 8 series in a row, Mal Meninga,in the personal coaching stakes,is going for 3 in a row coaching victories over 3 former 80/90`s Canberra Raiders team mates, who have been/or is NSW Coach, Bellamy 2008-10,Stuart 2011–12 and now Daly 20011-...

In years to come, how likely will it be,that 4 former NSWRL/NRL club team mates will coach Origin sides against each other,in an unbroken sequence, like we are seeing now.

You`ve Gotta Love pro NSW Journalism… especially anything written by Dean Richie of The Daily Telegraph, obviously the rags comedy writer.

Here is part of the journalistic master piece that NSW maestro of ‘spin and taurus crapus’ Dean Ritchie`s wrote about Game 1.. From:The Daily Telegraph: June 07, 2013

The Daily Telegraph can today reveal how beaten Queensland reverted to knee twisting, shoulder charges, leading with the head, grapple tackles, throat grabs, scorpion tackles, flops, elbows to the back of the head and a leg pull in their desperate bid to go one-up on Wednesday night.

Queensland stars Greg Inglis, Nate Myles, Cam Smith, Johnathan Thurston, Sam Thaiday and Ashley Harrison were the offenders….[end of quote]

Just to add some credence to his journalistic master piece, he includes a quote from little Benny..

"Nothing would surprise me when it comes to Queensland," former Blues captain Ben Elias said.

Here`s another riveting piece of journalistic ‘taurus crapus’ by Dean Richie From:The Daily Telegraph: June 22, 2011

Johnathan Thurston facing NRL judiciary tonight accused of manhandling ref Matt Cecchin

TONIGHT,rugby league has an unprecedented opportunity to end a scourge on the game - crimes against referees.

Johnathan Dean Thurston, 28, of The Strand in Townsville, stands accused of wilful and wanton manhandling of NRL referee Matt Cecchin last weekend. Enough is enough.

Thurston, the Maroons and Cowboys star, will plead not guilty and has been bolstered by a shameful propaganda campaign from the north.

Fortunately for rugby league, Thurston's legal representative, Sydney SC Geoff Bellew, is stranded in Los Angeles courtesy of the Chilean ash cloud and has forfeited the case.

A two-match suspension would rub Thurston out of next Wednesday night's Origin decider….. [end of quote]

For those who can not immediately recall the incident, when Thurston was running in to make a tackle ,the referee unwittingly put himself between Thurston and the player with the ball.

The referee was knocked over and Thurston was charged for making contact with the referee. Thurston was found not guilty by reason: the referee should not have put himself in that position.
