queensland Woody Point Shallows

Went out yesterday (sunday 25th) with a mate from Clontarf ramp out to the shallow reefs off woody point. We started out chasing bream but when Rob pulled in a small squid on a SP i decided to throw on a squid jig and have a throw with that. Within a few casts I was onto a flathead that Rob called for 70+cm. Got it to the side of the boat about 4 times before she spat the squid jig and swam off. After that we ended getting 2 squid before 12pm when we had to leave. Was a great morning to be on the water even if it was for only 4hrs.

Shame about the flatty but if it was oversize it probably saved you the trouble of unhooking What was the verdict with the squid calamari or bait?

Calamari, bait is banned in my boat because I am the one who gets to clean it.

Haha good stuff big tez ... unlucky about that flathead but still, hooking a 70cm flathead on a squid jig is a good effort.

not a bad little session mate,that seems to happen to me alot wen squidding i always manage some kind of by-catch,the last time i went hooked a flounder on a jigg:P
