It looks a bit like a queensland groper? I'm not sure tho. I wouldn't call it a cod.

Was that from the brisbane river? If so, theres another species :woohoo:

It was the logan riv, they are in the brissie as well, I know of some 200kg fish from the port area. the bigger ones are not as colouful.

Yeah it should, but it has to be a legal catch (ie a keeper) if its no take, cant be fish of the week!

I was saving that up to annoy Angus when he \"accidentally\" got that Mary River Cod he was talking about.

I disagree Feral. I think if a \"no take\" specie is accidentally caught but safely released (say if it was a lungfish or something) then I don't see why it couldn't be considered for the catch of the week.

For me this was probably the hardest fighting fish ive ever pulled outa a river, having never caught one in 14 years of trolling it was a special catch I hope to repeat, it went back to fight again of course.

So Gus when you bring back the fish of the week (again we don't need prizes, just acknowledgement for bragging rights and eternal fame), I would like to be allowed to include photos of no-takes, given that it was safely released.

What sort of trace were you using. It looks like an unplatted Bimini Twist with oversize split ring? And the lure was that a brown Halco River Rat
