i caught my first snapper comeing in at 70cm. also i got my pb yellow belly and my first flathead. :woohoo: :fishing: :aussie:

an easy one for me!

i have been fishing in cod waters for 10 years or more and never seen a cod! then one day fishing with lee i got one! 3 to be exact! but the first cod will always stick in my mind..the place we were fishing, the weather,the cast , the strike and the first glimpse of a green fish had me overwhelmed with joy! it was a amazing moment for me..not a huge fish but all the other factors mentioned (along with the 10 yrs waiting!) made it a very cool moment for me.

and lucky for me, "when it rains, it pours!"

These two bass were among four bass that got me my first top 10 finish at a abt bass pro event (non-boater) this year was awesome also finished 5th in the bass electric grand final no pics from then but

Several for this year coming in at third, my 43cm jack on a tt switch gold bouy 1/4 and on the kayak. Coming in at second was the 46cm bass from yabba ck of a 3inch pumkin seed off the canoe I bought for dad. But what I consider as my best catch for the year was my 47cm squire caught a tn60 at the end of the extension of the port. This was to be my first fish caught on a hb, cast and retrieve, I've only ever caught fish on hb's whilst trolling.

Then theres the saratoga from Borrumba, actually this years been very productive on the water hopefully next year will be as fruitful.

Most exciting would be a GT I caught fishing super light for bream.

But highlights would include 5 murray cod on my first trip to GL, and tuna off the yak and everything caught on fly since taking up fly fishing this year

This has to be my catch of the year, still amazes at the power of these things!!!

Followed by this snapper i caught off scarborough on 6lb TD SOL outfit after many trips perservering out there and it finally paying off

Ha ha, I have gotten all my pb's and firsts this year (Very new fisherman, started earlier this year)!

However this one stands out, as it was my first big catch :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: !

The Threadie was about 93cm from memory.

88cm threadfin. Caught 2 weeks after I caught my first catfish out of the Brisbane river and joined AFO. Awesome night with threadfins all around for Angus, Ryan and me. Very very happy :laugh:

My first time on the Brisbane river I joined Ray for a morning session and managed 3 threadies from 5 casts all over a metre on lure, do you think I was happy :woohoo: I havnt been invited back :laugh:

i would have to say the 82cm snapper i got in the wind ,rain and cold off north straddie on the rocks outside the caravan park at amity point,on 12 pound braid,using a bream hook and strip of mullet.brad

Without a doubt this one! And now there is a framed picture reportedly sitting front and centre on the bosses desk at the yacht club with little tear off numbers counting down till next year :-)

I would have to say my catch of the year was probably my sail caught off dundee beach in the N.T on my 5 day charter ,there where so many memorible fish this year but this would have to be the best ...matt

hard to say, most of my fish this year were pb's and firsts as i started fishing in late 2008 and didn't catch much between then and 09 lol

maybe my first threadfin on lure or 94cm jew on lure

mine would be 52 cm jewie on a gulp shrimp iin shultz canal. also a 42 cm cod in the same spot. excuse the shirt, angels concert

my best by far was a 72cm pearl pearch i caught on caloundra 12 mile using pilchards on a 1/0 hook! pic is my avitar!

close second or on par with my best is the 114cm thready i got curtisy of Raymond Kennady!

Land based 1M thready on lure. More my session of the year, 3 threadys, 2 jew, 8 bream in a session all landbased on lures in the middle of the day.

That sticks out in my mind from this year's reports too. Excellent result landbased, Brad !

I've had a fairly sparse year of fishing and am somewhat humbled to report my best catch was a meagre 37cm bream fishing with faulked a week or so ago. :blush: Either that or a monstering eagle ray that just about spooled me about a month ago when fishing with old mate Chubbstar and faulked.
