Unless Shane had lured you there with the intent to get you caught I don't see how this situation constitutes a setup.

A mate of mine recently got done in NSW spearfishing. His dive partner was on the boat before him and filleted an undersize kingie and hid it in a bucket, they happened to get checked by fisheries and my mate (who didn't even know it was ther) took the fine (much to his dismay at his friend not owning up to it being his, something like that I could accept as possibly setup but even he isn't bleating and blaming his mate. He accepts it was his boat and he should have checked with the other spearo that there was no illegal fish.

Just accept what you did was wrong, don't try and push the blame to your father or say you were setup. At the end of the day you and your mates tool illegal fish and they were sold end of story.

Yes my dad sold the fish, i went with him..it was meant to say, when we not (he) arrived home i couldnt believe that i had made $250.

I am disappointed by his actions and feel cheated as a AFO member. I think the apology took some guts and for a young person today was pretty good. At the end of the day we will see where he goes from here but you need to give him a chance to make right. I did some things when I was a young person that where not thought through properly that is part of being young. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson.

I think sending hate email, text and phone calls is a little over the top. Not that I think he is that fragile I would not want out community to have bad press with another young person doing something silly. Give the kid a chance now. I agree it is important that we find out the business as I guarantee Moses is not the only one selling to them. There is good reason why this sort of thing is control, these fish would not have gone on ice when caught and if this business continues someone is going to get a good case of food poisoning.
