I believe him in his captures. They are obviously different fish (colour pattern). And the first one is actually 56cm if you look closely.

Thanks. On my light soft plastics rig it was simply awesome. Haven't had a fight like that from a genuine sport fish since my reef fishing days. I was shaking when I got it in the net and honestly didn't believe I could land it.

it definatley was that size he posted it up on akff and didnt even know about the comp here till I told him so he had no reason to lie. and he had another reputable yakker with him so no reason not to beleive him IMO

yeh maybe if there is two fish very close the one on a measuring device should win but that fish is clearly bigger than any other entry (so far anyway)

Was just thinking the same thing. I am pretty sure it says there was no measure available, however gave a measurement size of 64 or 69 or whatever it was.

Will be leaving this one to the judges!

I guess it's up to the judges whether they are strict on the rules.

Also, \"This one measured 69cm and was caught last Sunday 19th.. I didn't have a measure with me but do have a witness who took the snap\".

If he didn't have a measure with him how did he know it was 69cm??

I won the Mackerel fotm with no ruler. But there was no other entries and I didn't say it was very big, I only said it was 53cm. Any one could have easily beaten me if they caught one, but for some reason, no one did

Not put in a FOTM for myself but a brag mat shot should be the way to go it's the only way to show a fishes true size no tail end shot's on a ruler

I think the method of measuring ssome of the bream was very questionable....

Measurement should be per DPI rules... the pic should show the head touching the start and the tail at the same time ... just my 2c..

its a bit fun this fish of the month thing and im sure its up to the judges discretion whether somthing \"fishy\" (pun intended) is up.....imout in the new yak this arvo chasing the big ningi croc so it will all be over very soon:P
