Waterproof Digital Camera?

hey i am looking at buying myself a digital camera to take fishing as my phone doesnt have a usb cable and its camera is crappy.

i would like a fairly good camera becasue i would like to get into some cool photography and get some awesome pictures of fish and in action shots.

i am fairly clumsy when it comes to my belongings and thats why i wouldnt mind getting a waterproof one, especially if i am going to be using it in the yak.

probably looking to spend 300 max.

any opinions?

yeah, that Olympus one is rated highly. I've used it and it works well. Took photos with it underwater in Vanuatu but don't have any copies:(

More expensive than what you said you wanted to spend. Might get it cheap on Ebay

yeh i saw one at harvey norman the other week and a friend has one i think it is the one that everyone has already said about, its around $350 and is great

I use an Olympus 725 SW as well. Its an awesome camera. It is both water and shock proof. Also its true to its word as I have accidently tested its worth several times

Bought 2 months ago for $490, they're now $390 and dropping

yeh i'm another one with a olympus u790sw

they are the bees knees but saying that i have also used the good old disposable underwater one while on holidays and they go ok just not as crisp or clear as the olympus

Had mine for about 18 months now and on;y problem was snapped hatch cover for battery cover due to my carelessness cost me $85 for repair. Only dislike about it is no viewfinder so difficult to view screen in direct sunlight but you now can buy a sunscreen for them.
