Went up to Baroon yesterday with Will, picked him up at his place with his tinny, got setup and on the water by 8am. trolled over to our first destination, will picked up a small bass on the way. I chucked on a purple/black/red TT Vortex spinnerbait and Will was chucking a TN60 Jackal. Got a couple of very small Spangled Perch pretty quickly, greedy little buggers hitting a big spinnerbait, Followed that by a good hit and a nice bass he almost bricked me and fought very hard but dont they all from Baroon.

Ww worked the are for a little longer before moving on. got to a nice little weed bed and fish were showing on the sounder :):) so we stopped and were onto fish straight away.

Will was the first to strike on his TN60

Then I decided Id try a plastic, Will gave me an Ecogear grass minnow to try on a 1/6th head and it didnt take more than a couple of casts and I was on and a good fish too. ended up being the biggest of the day at just under 40cm, I think thats the only fish we measured lol

Will got 2 more in successive casts and I got one more on the plastic, sorry only this pic they were all around the 30-35cm mark.

the wind had got up by this stage and coming from the east we decided to head to the other side of the dam to get out of the wind. I got another little bass in a nice little cove on a sb in shallow water. I then decided id try top water for the rest of the afternoon:woohoo: :woohoo:

Will alternated between the Jackal and a plastic he got nailed big time on a near unweighed plastic, we both called it for a 45cm fish it hit and run so hard, stripping line and just wouldnt give up, I went for the net but by the time i got it we were both laughing we couldnt believe he was only mid 30's lol.

I now had 4 bass and will 5 or 6. I persisted on the surface all afternoon, Will meanwhile landed another 5 or 6 bass on a jackal all taken within 10 meters of one another, I finally got a good hit on a Jitterbug in about a foot of water but didnt hookup, i let it sit and bang he hit it again but again no hookup. had a few more casts at him but no go, to add insult to injury Will cast his jackal out towards it 2 or 3 cranks and Bamm his on, Bugger lol. sorry no pics of the later caught fish.

It was an awesome day on the water, thanks for the day Will mate.

Baroon is certainly not fishing the way it used to after the dam went over but still sone fish there just have to work harder for them.

Ohh BTW i forgot to mention the weed in this dam has grown spradically insane ,,, most of the fish were in the pockets of the weed whch was hrd to reef out .. Lee can agree with me on that one

Yeah a hell of a lot of weed atm the fish are sitting hard in it too, didnt see any schooled deep while trolling over to the other side of the dam and got none in the deep on the troll. although we did find one very very deep hole that went down to 90 Meter yep 90 meters :woohoo:
