No more Twin Powers......

Just got told by one of the guys from Tackle Warehouse that Shimano has finished making the Twin Power:angry: :angry: apparently they are bring out a new model to replace it but it won't be launched til the trade show in August. Spewing I went to get the a 1000 series model but ended up with a Sustain.

i doubt shimano will stop production of new 08 TP so soon.

They aren't producing any more of the old Twinpowers that have been in Australia, and the next ones to hit the shelves will be the 08 twinpowers from japan.

that sounds reasonable terryH. hopefully there'll be a big price drop here in AU of the older TPs like what happened to TDZ when steez came up. (price drop from 449usd to 200usd!)

dont underestimate the sustains beefa.. from my long experiences with them i would recommend them to anyone...

i still have my 4000 and its a great reel...

Maxi I'm not under estimating it all haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it does feel sweet. I have an 07 Twin Power 2500 so I was after his little brother. The sustains do cost that little bit more than the Twin Power and they look a nice reel cant wait til the weekend to have a flick with the new combo I'v matched it to a Loomis Dropshot 4-8lb spin

I dont trust myself not to fall out of the yak. Im a bit worried about loosng gear. I think i will bring some cheaper stuff for this trip. The GLX can stay at home for this 1.

JDM twinpower's better than the TPs here although shimano always say they r the same. lol.

hopefully shimano will bring the 08 TP line up without any "modification" here in au.

MG + saltwater = disaster NO MATTER WHAT SHIMANO SAYS.

by all means that mg is not the best material to be used is salt water. but being look after, regular rinses after each outing, lubricantion its would still do the job.

the MG7 couldn't hold up the punishment of 23lb varivas so after a few rays and some sharks it's not "perfect" anymore.

the calais's tough like tank! i love the calais more than any other reels.
