nice fish mate, I tried the other night but couldnt get any prawns so it went from a whiting bash to a jack bash with some livies, No jacks unfortunatley but I did get a nice queenie in the mid 40's, and right up coochin creek too

I prefer something a bit heartier (like Snapper, Flathead). But I wouldn't say no to well cooked Whiting fillets. Especially off one that size.

In terms of flavor, definately yes.

But the Whiting I catch are generally 25-30cm so you need a few to have a good meal:( My pb is only 31cm and that was ages ago, back when I started fishing. From Wynnum.

I've not caught a lot of big ones, when I was a kid scored a few biggies out of the surf, but usually any whiting I caught were part of the annual winter whiting cull. lucky to be 20-25cm.

Mate the fish of month at the moment is whiting. If you get anymore like that you should enter it for sure. All the information on FOTM entries can be found under \"Fish Of The Month Competition\" in the forum.
