That is a really good price. If you are buying 2 lithium batteries, make sure you get good advice about which brand to get because I don’t think all brands can be series linked?

Sort of, @GregOug. That's what I initially thought, but whilst the 55lb/60" is only $300 cheaper it is also $850 cheaper on batteries. That's $1150 saved.

Why the lithium for Ellicatch? A well maintained set of AGMs will do the job for many years (that’s what everyone used before lithium) and are much cheaper. I would go max power on the electric and max battery size in Gel/AGM so you never have to worry about running out of spotlocking power. The more powerful electric will use less power to keep you on the spot in current and drain your batteries slower

Weight is the main factor, Andrew. 2 x 12's or 1 x 24 makes a huge difference to the weight sitting up front.

Based purely on the number of "theoretical" charge cycles for lithium, If you can get over the initial upfront cost of Lithium, the ROI on Lithium will be better than AGM as well.

Discharging a lithium down to 90% without risk of damage instead of 50% (AGM) is also the other benefit.

In other news I've measured up and will only require a 54" shaft.

I've settled on a Minn Kota Terrova w/Ipilot, lift assist, bluetooth and phone controllable. $550 dearer than the iDrive, but those extras suit me.

if $$ is an issue you could save another $500 on AGM over lithium  I looked and a comparable LiFe battery was only 30% lighter. Given you are only using the one battery you should consider this

I will undercut greg and help with install for just  2 x 750ml bottles of jack daniels and another one of those manhugs = $148

(Thats a saving of $20) which could buy you 7.5 ciggys or 4 bait jigs

( you can even get the jigs complete with hooks on em too )

On quite a few installs I've seen people also include a ram arm / custom bracket to brace the head of the minn kota whilst it is stowed away to reduce the weight / bounce on the shaft during trailering / cruising - Maybe factor this cost in as well

Will the 130ah be enough? You do have a tendency to sometimes fish dawn to dusk. Would be ideal if you could spot lock all day and not have to use the anchor at all.

I wired my engine up myself to include that, I just

bought the wiring kit from Mercury.

No idea, fair while ago.

It's only a set wires to go from your charge circuit to your 

electric battery so it gets charged the same as your engine battery does.

It came from my Mercury dealer I dont know if they made them up or not.

It probably wasn't genuine from Mercury.

Just check what your dealer suggests or marine lecky.It'd be pretty simple fix.
