Wasn't that light, I was out for cod so I was using my pe4 Nitro bone crusher travel rod and Shimano Stella 4000 spooled with 15lb braid and a 30lb fluro carbon leader. 

That set up is for arapima and red tail catfish, but it usually has 50lb micro thin braid on it. I just didn't think it would be sporting to use that heavy a line for fishing around here.

updated everyone. good to see the score board tick over. the bream seems to be hotly contested this year. 32cm as the current 3rd place is still a great fish. will need to beat big fish to take over first place now.

I’ve been using smaller dead baits like half herring and bony bream. I caught about 8 with a mate that session and would have lost that many too. You could also downsize your hook and switch to heavy mono if you’re using wire.

I haven't been measuring any yellow belly for a, while now as nothing was going to beat that big 14lb one I got. 

But I figured I should try and lock in that 3rd spot so I might as well chuck in this reasonable 63cm I got the other day until something much bigger comes along.
