New soft plastic rod recommendations

Hey, so I just bust a guide on my trusty egihead rod that I would use for light jigheads and really need to use something more specific for the shallows. I want to use my ci4 2500, and feel like it should be in the 2-4 or 3-5kg range, single piece around 6'6 for use on tinnie-jetski. I'm mainly looking to chase flathead, maybe the odd squire-snapper and grassy around Cleveland -Peel area. Been a while since I've been buying rods so I'm a little out of touch, any recommendations? I like my Abu Garcia Veritas for light lure fishing, I have one in the 2-4KG 7 foot size and like it.

Ok thanks, what do you think out of these two veritas?

medium light (3-6kg 2-10g cast weight) 1 piece

or

light spin (2-4kg 9-38g cast weight)versions?

I know it's relative to cast weight and line etc, but given target species and location and that you have one?

I also have a Abu Garcia Veritas 3-5 kilo top rod.

Aslso have a Dawia Supercasta another good rod.

I like the split butt design on the Abu Garcia Salty Stage because it provides a better grip. 

The rod has a stiff tip and fast taper and so I find it really nice to use when working soft plastics. 

Caught plenty of flathead on it and it's become my favourite rod. 

They are on the expensive side at $280, however, so if its worth your money is up to you.

I've got a 4kg nitro distance spin that would be perfect. 

It handles lures, jigs and plastics from 1/4oz to 1oz brilliantly. It's got a fairly fast mid section and a medium action tip, it's got a lot of sensitivity for feeling pick ups and the backbone to fight big fish. 

Other then my two finesse rods it's my favourite plastics rod with a lot of versatility.

+1 abu Garcia salty stage. Look out for them on sale I got mine for $115 delivered they have Fuji sic guides on them that cost close to that just for the guides

Yeah they're awesome I got mine on sale for $80 which was a good score.

I love my Major Craft Volkey VKS - 70L /Big Lake 4 to 8 lb   - very gutsy little weapon , but not sure whether they still make them though. 

The Wilson Blade N Tails RLFBT 05s and 06s are also pretty good kit , and are worth a look at.

I would probably get the rod with the heavier weight rating so you will be able to put some more power on the reefies with a tighter drag.

Has anyone tried this JW carbon budget rod for soft plastics? I had the 3-6kg version and quite like it, but I don't have this.

These rods are amazing, if you want to pay a bit more a daiwa infeet or a shimano zodias would be a great rod to pair with the stradic. Personally i wouldnt pair a relatively high end reel like a stradic to some $50 rod, i like to pair it with something similar in price range.

I've got a rule of thumb I use, a rod should cost at least 1/3rd the price of the reel or near enough anyway.

I have a Shimano Zodias already for the bigger fish with a vanford, nice rod but I haven't caught enough bigger models to fully appreciate it yet! Hence a focus on the smaller units for now

for that i would go for a 2-5 jewel or 3-6 jewel. For a bit more a 3-6kg anarchy. I would take the anarchy over jewel but that personal preferance.
