queensland BRC - Quick Update

Well it was a good first day.

Not only was there a great pre registered turn out but a lot more came down to register this morning.

Really wont have any idea who is in what place until tomorrow but species caught so far include:

Threadfin

Snapper

Bream

Luderick

Flathead

Giant Herring (in a cast net but i thought worth a mention ).

Tailor

And of course, catfish.

Will be interesting to see what comes in first thing with over 50 boats pulling all nighters.

Shame about the wind, but whats a BRC without the wind!!

hey angus sounds like a very productive first day but with 50 boats out tonight who knows what might turn up! what time is everyone expected in back at colmslie for the wrap up wouldnt mind comein down to say gday n put some faces to names!

Zano_15 come down about 4:00pm. Thats when you can expeect the most people. Just jump in and say hi (I usually suggest introducing by both real and user name ) and the majority of people will welcome you warmly.

Well this was only the 10-4 session mate. And I only spoke to about 6 people.

So id say overnight we should see something of the toothy variety.

I fished all yesterday till dark down at the Bulimba yacht club. Didn't have any luck at all.

Not going to be able to make it to the weigh in today unfortunately.

I'd happily collect BIG rays and eels though

We had a disasterous night. After fighting a suspected 8fter for 11 minutes the line got caught on the drop off and was cut. Fish took a nice 7kg half-sting ray

Next time i catch a big ray (or eel) i will bring it back for you, but this one was angry and i didnt want to deal with a metre diameter ray at 2am with my headlamp falling off etc.

no matter what the species, terrestrial or marine...."between the eyes" is usually a safe bet....
