the Cabins are not really private. There are 4 I think and they are shared between 6 I think.

Yep, 6 to a cabin, 3 bunks.

There are quite a few ladies who attend. Wives/partners as well

If you have good camping gear, it's probably a better idea to go that way as the bunks are a thin mattress on plywood and no ensuites.

I will be swagging it and if anyone is thinking of going and doesn't have a boat I'll have a spare spot on mine.

I had 1000's of spam emails when I got back from overseas and it is possible I accidentally deleted it. Having an email address with "fishing" in it (and one readily available on the internet) ensures I get every single possible spam email from Chinese and Indian factories, Middle Eastern and SE Asian fish markets, variously aligned Australian political (& pseudo political) groups and the most insane number of winning ticket emails to the British lottery which is amazing as I have never bought a ticket! Oh plus I must be highly desirable to most religious and gorgeous African women because they cannot get enough of me...

Really looking forward to this. Have to replace the bearing on one side of my trailer as it "died" last night at Jacobs Well.

Will a 3000 reel be overkill for fresh water?

it will do - you do not need anything that big out there but it will be fine. I personally use a 1000 with 6lb

I've done this a few times on my trailer, so do have the experience. I was putting ford bearings on with the marine seals, but my caps keep falling off the trailer and thus wrecking the bearings. $30 bucks for 2x hubs and bearings at a trailer place in Beenleigh with the marine seals.

Mate it is a number 2 whiting hook you are after. Although, some misguided people seem to think a 1/0 wide gape (kahle) hook is ok as well. I'd go for the whiting hook if I were you though.

A No.2 whiting hook is good for slimey mackeral

A 2/0 may be better,lol

you will get way to many gut hook ups with a whiting hook. The wide gaps avoid a lot of this and do not effect the hook up rate
