North we went...

After some frustrating trips chasing Barra (Tina being busted off on a metery and me on a -1) at Mondy. A couple of suspects made the drive up north back in February to Cardwell for a bit of fishing. Cyclone Oswald pretty much dumped freshwater all over QLD, but we still managed to have a great time and a bit of an adventure with some good mates. With the ladies in tow some days were just good to cruise around offshore and have a bit of a fang.

Between us we caught a few rat barra, a stack of cod, bit of vermin, drunk a bit of rum and wine, a couple of grunters, sharks and a couple of others. Tina's shovelnose was taken on 6lb gear and she duked it out for about 30 minutes to bring it in.

Got a stack of fish and scenery pics, probably out of chronological order. The good snaps are most likely Tina's and the dodgy ones are mine lol. Will only throw up a handful.

Brian: Pizza was pretty good, certainly didn't expect something like that in a small town. Considering supplies hadn't gotten through with most of the roads flooded over they were pretty generous with toppings. Funny story with that, I almost got pulled in trying to tail it boat side and Tina got a big slap to the face shortly after that pic was taken.

Ted: Yeah it was timed with the Barra open season and arranged with work schedules since last year. Had a mate's brother who made the drive up from Tassie so fair hike for him. Brisbane to Rocky took a day, a stop over in Townsville for a mate to see his son and then onto Cardwell. Two full days with all the road works and toilet breaks. We took it pretty easy.
