Love your write ups Hamish.

Great reading.

That crab is a beauty. Over 2kgs. Wow.

Cod is very under rated imo.

They go hard and are delicious on the fork.

Cheers.

Damo.

Thanks Damo, cod is definitely delicious.

That's a decent crab Hamish.

All that throwing those lures around will wear off the easter eggs you ate.😂

Good report as usual, thanks.😃

Cheers Angry, it’s a shame the lures weren’t a bit more successful.

I agree Hamish - cod is really good eating!  May I ask why on earth you didn't keep it for a feed? 😊

Kat, it was on the second last day and seeing as though we already had the crab I didn’t think we’d be able to finish it before we went back home (we didn’t have any way to get it back home keeping it frozen). Cod are definitely tasty and if I had gotten a smaller one it probably would’ve come home for dinner.

Love your work, Hamish. That crab is a beast and like others have said, cod is great on the table.

Thanks Steve. It was the biggest crab I’ve caught.

Hamish, It's good to see someone letting a fish go because keeping

it on ice was going to be impossible instead of just keeping it and more

than likely throwing it out because it's gone off.

Full marks to you. Thank you.😍😊

Good report, Hamish and some good fishing. Great to feed the addiction. You'll have to get an esky to keep future catches in to bring home. Fish on/under ice will last a few days if you don't bust their gut.

Great story Hamish. You're having more luck than I at Causeway. I've been trying at the boat ramp at the southern end (Kinka Bech end) of the lake. Had a few good bites on 25g Gillies lures. Haven't managed to land one yet though. It has been very windy here for a week.

Thanks Coconut, hopefully you get some soon.

Great write up Hamish and congrats on the big muddie and cod. When reading the part about the cod capture I was thinking I'd reply with 'there you go, don't need a crab pot' but turned out you did to land it ...... (and the cod) 😁.

My brother got a heap of good prawns at the harbour about a week ago just off the jetty - might be worth checking it if you're there a similar time of the year again.

Cheers KM, next time I'll have to bring the landing net. Also, good to hear about the prawns, sounds like I just missed them!
