First Bass on spinerbait,......................

Hi All,

Went down the back of the Coomera River this afternoon. Just good to be out fishing at last didn't care to much if I caught anything or not.

Anyway, after throwing hard bodies and soft plastics for a while, I switched to a spinnerbait around a snag and bang second cast a great Bass (happily released) she took me straight back into the snag, but i got her off once I rowed over the top of the snag. Great fish and went full on. Only fish of the afternoon, but well worth it.

Congratulations - Its a bit scary your first fish on a spinnerbait, hard to believe all that wire and blades etc is even of slight interest to a fish!

I live in helensvale so it is an easy option for a fish when short on time.

I have caught a bass in the same area that was 31cm on a purple TT spinnerbait. It is a nice little area if you can figure it out.

I'd be a bit worried about the bass flipping out and a fin puncturing the boat though.. Has this happened yet Death Ray?

No, no punctures. But, I keep a roll of waterproof tape in the tackle box.... Oh and I never go out of sight of land in it either just in case.
