yeah nice catch mate. Seems to be alot more around that size up river neer us. Ive got, 43, 45, 51, and 60. Still looking for a big one!

Threadfin Salmon - reputed to be very good eating.

Yes mate you can eat them apperently they taste great this is the only one i've landed and it was a quick and easy fight so I let him go.

Pinkey I had a metre plus Threadie up next to my boat last year and I lost him at the last second, so they are there

Excellent eating just a bit hard to fillet as they have large nodiles on spine that you have to run knife around. Graham Pflaum lost a metery at kooka last year.

thats awesome mate shame there wasnt many prawns about. great table size fish i dont think there is a need to keep any of these fish that are bigger then that as it looks you could some decent meat of them at that size. great to see the fig still going good.

nice fish malcom, good to see they are breeding in the river!

and exactly what rayke said - they are a bit tricky to fillet owing to the nodule thingos, not impossible at all though. they taste beautiful, freeze pretty well too. must be bled and iced immediately on capture or it's not worth it. taste doesn't change too much with size either.
