Well after some excellent ground work by Aaron (thanks mate) we were 1st at the gate which opens at 6.00am. We got there at 5.55am, just enough time to start putting the boat together.

We were on the water by 6.15am to be greated by this

With Aaron the appointed skipper for the day I had time to focus on the deckie's job which I think I got the hang off within the 1st hour.

The hat has been improved

only slightly but

Then I got the flick from the boat to wittness the boat crew hook up

But it's only a catfish hahahaha

But Aaron can catch more then a catfish

Now this is the way to travel

Until Daz hooks up

Nice one! It's a bit bigger than Romeo's too. What did you get it on? Did you end up at Logan's?

ps - looks like you had it easy been towed around all day chillie! You should have come and had a nice easy paddle with us on Friday when that westerly blew up

Yeah it was a cool day. Dazza did realy good, he picked the right lure when things shut down - he picked a gold halco, good one Daz. ;) There you go thinking like a fish again.

TH what's this about being towed [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/PA240032_AFO-87e3b24ecfa1484947b71a17d434ab00.jpg

Don't worry Aaron I caught catfish too.

WW I used a spinner bait fo rmy bass, 3/8 purple on 3lb fireline with 8lb leader.

For the record I was not towed all day, just when ever I felt like doing so - lazy or smart your call:P

We only ended up with the 2 bass and the 1 yellow plus about 8 catfish, so it was pretty hard work for all of us, the wind was smashing us all over the lake and made it hard for Aaron to steer the ship. At one stage we had 2 54lbs going flat out into the wind but we could not stop the boat being blown backwards into a weed bed.

Was it worth it? For Dazz, most certianly, for me, heck yes, for Aaron, we'll have to wait and see if he ever comes back on line. :S Would we do it again tomorrow instead of going to work - dur sh!t yeah. Ok I learnt three things on this trip, don't bother with bait in Wivenhoe, everytime I threw a shrimp down it was hit within ten seconds buy a catfish, catfish will hit lures:angry:, and bony bream like big gold slugs:laugh:, will I go out there again? Maybe although its a bloody big dam even at 25%

I learnt something too - it's easy to catch fish when you are a deckie. [img size=313]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/DECKIE-2418a6139476ab2aa4dff6c49205b5ba.JPG
