queensland Father’s Day Men’s Health Message - Prostate Cancer Foundation Of Australia - Show Your Support!

Hi all,

Bit of a random, non-fishing and non-smart arse post but bear with me.

Earlier this year, my step-father was diagnosed with an advanced form of prostate cancer. After going through the many lows associated with this diagnosis and subsequent treatment with my family, my partner, baby Dorothy and I decided to get involved with “The Long Run” to support The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

 

During September, Dorothy (with some help from Mum and Dad) will be walking 72km on behalf of her Granddad to raise awareness and much needed funds for this important men’s health cause.

On the job this morning to celebrate father’s day!

I was amazed to learn that every 25 minutes an Australian man is diagnosed with prostate cancer. The 72km we will be walking represents the 72% of men who experience serious mental health deterioration post diagnosis who don’t seek treatment.

I have been diagnosed with PC and had a Radical Prostatectomy this year. 

Thanks for being awesome.

I made a small donation. 

Just another note to all you Roosters that are over 40 of people with male partners over 40. 

Go get a PSA test. Its easy and free and could save your life.

Yep I'm back on deck now and we are doing well. We took delivery of an oyster loader on Sunday. It is a cracker and will make it really easy to wash the shells. I am hoping to get down to the land on Friday and rebuild the washer.

I'll need to find my picture... but the best from my kid was actually left on Angus

She'd dropped a very leaky poop on his lap while he was playing with her. It was gross
