Lost World 2

Well went back again today for another walk in paradise.

This report will be brief and ill let the photo's do most of the talking as I am tired! Some awesome shots yet to be uploaded and due to my inferior copy ill let Sweresy upload my new PB :)

As soon as we got there Henry was onto something using a 75mm Damiki Tucan Walker. After a short but brutal tussle out comes a new PB for him and 40cm Silver. Was not expecting one of these to hit a large walker! Silvers were in good numbers today and I think Manni has the picture of Danny's good one.

Next I was onto something using a 45mm Bubblepop. This fish ran me hard into snags and bricked me good. I was patient and opened the spool to see what would happen. After a fair while of this I got fed up and decided to swim for it. Fresh water after all... Anyway as I was emptying out my pockets the line picks up and starts moving again and the fight is back on resulting is 42cm's off bass.

The was followed by his little brother a few minutes later.

Then Henry got one that must have been a smoker or something as a fingerling and had its larynx removed. But now has some holes it can smoke through (this fish had gill plates and neither side).

This was follwed by another. They loved that Tucan popper.

This was my best "Wheres Wally" shot of Zim Man. In case you cant see him its because of the stealth mode he uses when wearing his Damiki Tournament Shirt :)

A special part of the world indeed!

Since Bass was the FOTM, Sweresy & I decided to head out for a trek and a flick and see if we could land a competitive specimen.

Upon arrival we ran into a rag-tag group of suspects who shared a lot of the same type of fishing. Explore, catch, photo, release. All done with a lot of friendly banter and competition.

A couple of the boys got on straight away and my choice of lure was second-guessed half a dozen times within the first half hour.

I wasn't having any luck until Sweresy caught up with us after exploring another hole and asked if I'd had any luck.

I turned around to reply with a disappointed, "Nuh..." when I was hit.

A calm tussle ensued...

and a PB Bass of 41cm succumbed and was landed for a hero shot.

There was more trekking ahead through some beautiful country and some amazing structure and scenery to take in.

Through this magnificent country, I threw a few casts at a little hole and a feisty spangled perch smashed my lure on the second crank. He wasn't a beast but the first one I've ever caught and therefore, another PB!!! :woohoo:

During this little private session (excuse the photos, I was by myself and the little guy flip himself inside out...) a kookaburra decided to take a liking to my lure and flew down to smash it hanging off the end of my rod. He flew at me twice as he thought it was an actual fish but I reckon he was peeved that I threw the Spangle back!?!?

After a couple of his mates joined him and started aggressively laughing en-masse, we decided to hoof it outta there and join up with the rest of the crew for some more fun and the bashing of a poor yella as seen above...

Great day gents, looking forward to getting back out there with you again and was a pleasure meeting you Manni and Danny. See ya soon! ;)
