tacklebox suggested the bongaree caravan park which is just across the passage and the jetty/boat ramp is just across the road from the park. the link is somewhere in this thread or just google it, i'm pretty sure they have little cabins - we just booked a tent site. we'll be driving up saturday lunch and staying the night.

There is plenty of weedy flats to fish near the meet point. Its also not to far to drive over to Bribie where there is heaps of beach to walk on the passage side and around towards the ocean. Never fished it but would imagine there would be plenty of flatones to be caught.
