That will be my focas after we get back from Awoonga, with a slip in day charter in Nov and a Lenthals trip in Feb.

Aaron you still good to team it with me? If so are you happy with the Southern Chilly's as a team name. I mean we are south of the river and we are both \"hot\" fisherman that will win most categories..

Another name we could use would be \"Team 1st place\" - to save time at the engravers.:woohoo:

Angus, how far up/down stream are u allowed to fish for the comp??

Is there any no go zones??

Maybe this information should be added to the home page map or at least highlight the allowed fishing area??

Dazza: All that info will be in the rules. As stated on the front page they will be released in early October.

More or less however you will be able to fish the entire river, from fresh to salt.

All good Brian, Southern chillies is fine, they should save time and give it to the engravers now:laugh:

And no I am not paddling my kayak out with hooks in it for monster sharks just in case you were getting any ideas:unsure:

Lee only a few had much local knowledge last year, you can come fish the prefish trips if you like, we are doing one on 6th October, and maybe another in November.

The ironic thing is, all that we caught at last year's comp was shark bait! And even then it was caught by Romeo's wife, who wasn't officially a part of the team:blush:

Alex cleaned up last year, but all I caught were undersize bream! weather was very hard last year, it was blowing like Buddha Handy at training.

all i got last year were undersized sharks a moses perch and a stingray.

but the comp was the first time i'd ever fished in the brisbane river.now i'ver got some local knowledge and a boat under me so lookout

hey guys, is the comp generally held on a weekend?

gonna have to find a new spot for landbased if it's gonna be a week end because that's when the water lice take over the ramp at ftp

You can all put away from boats and gear and stop thinking up swanky team names. 'Boys in Blue' will scoop the pool this year and if it looks like we are running behind, we will just change the rules to make sure we win.

Is that any different from the normal day to day stuff?

Any ideas on the entry cost for this comp?

Last year, it was team based entry, (except for juniors) I think it was max of 3 members. Idea was only one entry for each prize per day from a team.

Was a bit thick, did not think of entering myself as a team of one! Probably will this year (Gives the site a bit more loot as well to do it that way)

Sounds like a good idea! I should be up to speed with your old 'yak by then. Mind you I don't know many great places in the river yet either.

Hard Yakkas would seem to be the obvious corny team name.
